David and I put in our annual volunteer time toward fire suppression and the "Healthy Forests" Federal Initiative. Walked along the highway from the big turnout and then a mile up the road and a hundred yards off the well packed route, where a suitable excision needed to be conducted. Saw about a dozen other people on the road with snowshoes, snowboards, AT/Tele/and X-Country skis, but no motorized devices. Myself, I chose Columbia Bugaboos (boots, that is) for the day. The creek is beautiful this time of year with snow covered boulders. I'm sure I'll be up there again to play a couple more times before the spring thaw.
