Here's something different: First Nations folk-rock - duo Claude McKenzie and Florent Vollant, aka Kashtin. Discovered them while I was living in Canada. Unknown here, but they were a hit in Europe. The third video is a cool doc of a tour across Canada. Their stuff has an infectious quality that grows on you:

This popped up on my facebook feed today. Apparently she's been doing stuff on you tube with her family for years, not necessarily music related. She has a nice voice and while I know nothing about video editing, this appears to be really well done to me. Or she cloned herself multiple times.

Re: Ob-la-di: I like it! I didn't know that kind of digital compositing technology was available in the "consumer" market. It's at least as sophisticated and well done as this one, one of my favorites. (How many famous people walk-ons can you recognize?)

Dang, I've been totally impressed w/ actress Florence Pugh in everything I've seen her, she can sing too.
(actually now that I'm poking around on you tube she has some song clips posted from long before any of her acting credits)

Pandora keeps surprising me. This band isn't exactly new, apparently formed in 2013. I've never heard of them til today, one of their songs popped up. I liked it, so I listened to some more of their songs. Like their sound. Fickle Friends, young British popsters. I get a little bit of a HAIM vibe. There's even a bit of hiking footage in the video so it's totally appropriate for this site!

Brand new single from Edenbridge from a forthcoming album. Probably my favorite symphonic metal band. It's not exactly my favorite song by them but pretty decent. It's a lyric video. Their lyrics never entirely make sense to me. I don't let that interrupt my enjoyment of it though.

Been digging The Infamous Stringdusters lately. They're not from around here but their album "Silver Sky" has a familiar look to it...
I really like this cover of The Cure:
They have a lot of good original tracks.

Brand new song from Grimes. She's allegedly 31 years old. She just does not age.

Well, it's feeling Septemberish, harvest time and all, and Alabama kind of made the news last week and I couldn't help but recall the line, "Oh, Alabama...The devil fools with the best laid plan."
Back to the point...listening to Neil Young's Harvest. WOW! I thought there might be a bit of fatigue from some of those songs over the years.....Uh, no, not at all! Still one of his best LPs (and there are a few).
Have a taste. Out on The Weekend Alabama

I'm sure I've heard the name Molly Tuttle before. Hadn't heard any of her songs as far as I know. Looked her up on you tube out of curiosity. This is the first song I picked, sounds good. Apparently she's playing the guitar here clawhammer style, which is usually more associated with banjo. Interesting sound it creates. She sure can pick it.
