I heard the name Phoebe Bridgers a while ago, but only recently have started hearing some of her songs. Like her sound. This is probably my favorite. The content of the song is fairly heavy. There's info out there about who the song is directed toward.
She's also participated in several collabs/side project groups, including this one w/ the singer from Bright Eyes. Pretty sure I'm hearing some theremin in there, you don't hear that often.
Their latest album is all over the place musically. Several songs feature guest musicians. One is with Tom Morello, so it pretty much sounds like Audioslave. This one includes Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron, so it's got a heavy Soundgarden vibe going (common thread between those 2 bands is Chris Cornell of course).
This has been out for about a month, but I just heard it recently. Appropriate light and breezy summer song. She's only 24 but she's already been doing this music biz thing for quite a while.
Got tickets to see her at the Tractor in October. New album drops in August. Here's something from a couple years ago. I have a feeling she brings a lot of energy to a live show.
