True, but they seem to keep finding good, young talented players like Byron Maxwell and what's his name who had the pick 6 against the Cowboys.
I have never been a fan of Pete Carroll's decision making during games, but he is a great judge of talent, player development, and his motivational skills are second to none.

Byron Maxwell is not young talent. He’s a member of the 2013 Super Bowl Legion of Boom. He signed a huge free agent deal with Philthy in 2014. He was then cut by them, acquired by the Dolphins and then cut by them. He’s a bandaid. I like him, but he’s a bandaid.
Agree with tmatlack. They’re old. Signing Jimmy Graham to a huge deal is what has brought this franchise down. They should have been paying an O-Line and developing their own receivers. They’ll regrettably be a wildcard round exit if they do make the playoffs. With every win we slide backwards in the draft, nothing more.

Graham needs to to go while he still has some value. I'm guessing the Saints wouldn't be willing to give Max back.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Saints win it all this year. Balanced offense. Much improved defense.

I agree, he is too one dimensional. A great receiver especially when "posting up" in the end zone, but he is not very good at blocking and definitely takes up too much salary cap space.
Yes Tom, could be the Saints year, the are due for a good run for sure. I am rooting for the Steelers.

I think that was a foregone conclusion already. Not that his last kick mattered.
Good they can rest and get healthy for next year. Best they could have hoped for if they made the playoffs was more injuries. Hopefully they can focus on getting Wilson some protection and not waste time or cap on acquisitions like Lacy.

With all the injuries, poor kicking game, incompetent offensive line, and leading the NFL in penalties by a wide margin, it's amazing they even came close to making the playoffs.

It would have really sucked if Carolina had won and he missed that, although it would have been a fitting end to a frustrating season.

Well, Carolina had lost by the time they lined up for the FG so was somewhat anti-climactic, almost comical. They didn't seem to play like they wanted to make the playoffs. Some of those self inflicted penalties were dumbfounding, by players that are usually smarter. At least they exhibited some class at the end of the game.

How could you know? AFIAK, Jimmy G has never actually tried to block anyone

Lol true...wtf were they thinking by signing him in the first place? Pete Carroll has always had a run first type of coaching style and Graham, being one dimensional, simply doesn't fit.
I expect a lot of personal changes going forward, here is a list of players who will likely be gone.
Graham
Thomas
Chancellor
Avril
Bennet
Walsh
Joekel
Ifedi
Lane
Lacy
Sherman

Thomas will definitely be back and Sherm will likely be back. Thomas has always been the piece of the LOB that makes the whole thing work. His speed and play making abIlity elevate everyone in the secondary. Sherm isn’t as good without him. We saw that last year.

Agree with Layback - I bet Sherman will be back and I sure hope Thomas is back. We need to keep Bennett too.
I sure hate to see Chancellor and Avril go but that's the breaks I guess.
Good riddance to Lacy and Graham. At least Graham has been good for something. Lacy was a total waste of resources.
