The lack of any sort of competent DL almost cost them this game. It will surely haunt them throughout the season.

For sure, I thought Sham was going to score...looked to me like the defense was keyed on the specific play. We definitely could have used Clowney tonight, Sham passed fairly well, but an upper echelon QB, given that much time will shred us.

The Patriots look to be a potent team if Cam keeps playing like he did tonight. And yet they lost. Go ‘hawks!

I agree... People have asked me why I ride my bike so much... I answer so I can watch the Seahawks and not die of a heart attack... LOL The defense needs to get better. They have the right pieces but haven't been getting it together these first two games. I am hoping to see that happen! Go Hawks!

I think the defense did pretty well (except the pass rush) especially since they lost 2 players in the secondary to injuries. Imo the main problem was, as usual that Edelman is nearly unstoppable, that little guy is flat out amazing. I am no fan of Newton (at all) and the Pats are nowhere near the force they were with Brady at the helm.

Now their non pass rush has become worse, Irvin is out for the season with a torn ACL.

This gave me a rush of nostalgia... Happy Retirement I loved that team and he truly was one of the heroes.

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

In today's game against the Dolphins it is unusual that the canned background crowd noise includes the tomahawk chop chant from the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Seattle Seahawks franchise has never started a season with 5 straight wins. I predict a win this Sunday night in Seattle against the Minnesota Vikings, which will break the streak. Second prediction: Facebook commenters will still whine about the defense, and predict team failure. doh.gif

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I still stand by my prediction that the DL will let them down in a big way. Hope I am wrong. So far, their opponents are a combined 4-12. They have not been tested.

The Patriots are 2-1 in their other games. They had the top secondary in the league last year. Cam Newton played an awesome game, almost impossible to sack, throwing laser beams. That one game was a test. The other three: hot garbage, yes.

I thought the last game the defense played well despite all the injuries. A few bad calls prolonged some drives and made it look worse than it was. The defensive turnovers have really made the difference in a couple of the games and that is an X factor that has been missing in recent years. If they can heal up and avoid more injuries I think they will be ok.
