I'm doubling down on my early season prediction that the Hawks go 8-8

Will that get them in the playoffs?

Their remaining schedule is fairly soft playing the 49ers twice and hosting the Cardinals. They should win those games. A few extra days rest should help at Carolina and Minnesota here is also very winnable. They probably lose to the Chiefs. I can see them going 10-6 but more likely 9-7.

I agree Tom; unlikely they will beat KC although it’s at the Clink and it’s not out of the question as our defense is better than theirs; Minnesota and Carolina are toss ups; we will likely split those; SF and Arizona are terrible; we shouldn’t lose to either. 9-7 is the most likely. 10-6 would give them a realistic playoff berth. The way the NFC is however a 9-7 could get them in too...

Wow, highly entertaining game. Well matched teams. McCafferey looked like his old Stanford days. Panthers should not have gone for it on 4th down in the first quarter.

Defense definitely has some holes. Hopefully they don't overlook the 49ers next week.

Gotta tip my hat to Brian Schottenheimer putting in the play action offense, which duly fits the current personnel. The subpar (albeit improved) OL is quite awful at pass blocking, much better at run blocking. RW has lost a step, cannot escape as he once could, and play action gives him a better look at the field. If they get to the playoffs, expect to see more running from RW.

Good to see the Hawks taking care of business today. Too bad about Fluker. The defense seems suspect but making big plays when they need to. Should be a good game against the Vikings.

Janikowski is loads better than the Blair Walsh project.... Two missed extra points ain`t great though (one blocked I think). Really enjoyed that game. The Hawks Offense is firing on all cylinders. Pass defense needs some work, however. Seems like the Hawks have adopted a bend not break defense, reminiscent of NE of late. We will see how that works against Kirk Cousins and Patrick Mahomes.... If we beat Minnesota this Monday, (I am going to the Clink for that one and hope the 12s will be full on noisy for that one!!!!) we have a 98% chance of going to the playoffs according to the Seattle Time`s source. Things are looking up!

Nope, and I gladly admit to underestimating this year's team Hawks seemed to miss Doug Baldwin last night

I agree about Baldwin Steve, I noticed that too. I was talking with a fellow fan-friend recently and I commented that I like this years team better than the last few years. They did not agree, because of all the key losses of defensive players. The thing I like the best about this team is that on 3rd or 4th down in short yardage situations, it is highly likely that they can run for a first down, that has not been true since Lynch was in his prime.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.
