I'm a totally romantic sucker for events like this. I realize that some of these folks aren't the best of human beings, and who knows what the team will look like next season. But I sure got swept up by all the excitement. What a great day for Seattle.

So who would folks like to see in the season opener in September? The possibilities are: Broncos, Raiders, Giants, Rams, Cowboys, Cardinals, Packers, 49ers That's the order I'd like to see, from least to most desirable. A rematch against the 49ers is just too compelling, but I expect they'd prefer to kickoff 2014 at their new home in Santa Clara. The Packers would be a good alternative given the last meeting in Seattle. The Seahawks look to have a tougher schedule (#6) than 2013 appeared to be at first, and 49ers are right up there at #4. The Broncos moved from the easiest (at the beginning of the 2013) to the 2nd toughest, which will be good for them. The Colts get off easy.

The 2014 schedule was released and it looks like the Seahawks will have a brutal 2nd half of the season, including a lousy Thursday game in Santa Clara four days after playing the Cardinals, and no bye week to help out in the second half. Ouch!

They are definitely gonna make the Hawks work hard for #2; It should be a fun ride no matter what. Last year spoiled me though...

Take any occupation of people in their 20's and you will find some that screw up at various times. This isn't unique to the NFL, we just don't hear about it from people that work in the office at Boeing or Microsoft because they aren't famous/in the public spotlight.

Seems like ole Russell is getting a divorce BEFORE his 100 million dollar contract comes around. Hmm.

On the Russell Wilson front: The rumor I heard was his wife was somehow involved (be it a one nighter or whatever) with Golden Tate... Maybe not such a coincidence that they only offered Tate peanuts to stay in Seattle, basically forcing him elsewhere for a lot more money than he was being offered here.. Again only a rumor... People getting married that young.... Least likely to succeed...

Tigermn, Please consider removing your last post. If it's wrong, it's needlessly harmful, and if true, it can be discussed elsewhere.

Wow, Tigerman, that is one rumor you got hold of. The whole thing seems funny and puzzling given the guy RW is as well as his religious backround. Rumors are rumors but the scenario fits... Hopefully he (and she) weather it all alright. I was appreciating his stability given all the brew haha Kaepernick has been getting into lately. Hope that doen`t change....

I didn't make it up, but I suspect there are worse ones out there. People will speculate if you are in the public eye and choose to be secretive. On a positive note Earl Thomas just signed a long term extension and will be the highest paid safety in the NFL. Details forthcoming...

Earl Thomas just signed: 4 year 40 million. 27.7 million guaranteed.

With Sherman and Wilson needing big extensions in the near future, the team is going to be very different in the coming years! A handful of players will be eating half the salary cap. A lot of mid level players like Baldwin are going to be too expensive to keep.

Then why could they not match Golden Tate?

Art is an adventure.
