Found these old Kodachromes in a box my Dad gave me. He and a couple of his buddies skied to the top of Cultus Mtn. winter 1949. Notice the army surplus gear. That's a reversible to white canvas anorak from the ski corps and bamboo poles.
Canoscan FS400US and VueScan software. Took a bit of work to recover the detail.

I've posted this photo a couple of years ago in hopes of someone being able to identify where this campsite might be. Unfortunately, I can't find the thread I originally posted on to bump it, so here it is again. Hopefully, a new set of eyes might be able to shed some light on the location. It is a picture of my dad & friend camping in the 1920s or 1930s. The only clue would be the sillhouette of the mountains in the background. I'm inclined to think that it is somewhere in the Snoqualmie/Alpine Lakes area because they lived in the Seattle/Bellevue area and I'm not sure how far cars back in those days were able to travel.

That's a cool photo; I remember when we used to have truckloads like that for the Railroad Days parade in G.F.
Here's a photo of the Pilchuck lookout I bought on Ebay.
A photo I bought from the Seattle Times archive

My Dad skiing with some friends in the early 1950's on Huntoon Point along Artist Ridge at Mt Baker. And a pic of his car with skis on the roof on the way to Stevens Pass.
My Dad enjoying some skiing with his friends long ago at Mt Baker in the early 1950's. He's 2nd from the left as we view it, the tall one. He and his buddies would drive to Stevens Pass and Mt Baker to ski.

St. Helens erupting 1980.
The 1980 pics remained in a lost camera for years before development, so color is off; probably Ektachrome:

Here is a trick I use to dupe my old slides, but it requires a slide projector and a digital camera. Usually one can find a decent point and shoot for around a 100 bucks. Need to get a card but they are pretty cheap.
I project my slide onto a screen or white wall and take a digital pic of that. Not the greatest quality but ok for throwing up on the computer, and sending as attachments in emails. There are companies out there that will scan and digitize slides for a price. A friend of mine has done so.
My problem is getting the digital pictures into this forum so they can be displayed. I'm an old geezer too and haven't quite mastered all the technology.

Me (far right) at the Mt. Baker "Slush Cup" 1966 on my last weekend of freedom before I got drafted into the army. As far as I know my ski poles are still in that little lake you had to try and ski across.
