The VW belonged to the guy on the left, I am not sure what year it was. We were all students at EWU over in Cheney back when it was EWSC and they still had a Native American Indian as a mascot. Also, not sure what happened to those guys, maybe they got drafted too. Years later I had a 1974 VW beetle and loved it. That was the last model year VW imported the flat windshield bug (non-super beetle) into the US but they continued to make them down in South America. It has fuel injection but I converted it back to a carburetor and it ran like a top. I was sad to sell it when I packed up and took another job overseas.

Buckhorn Pass, 1938. Taken by my great uncle when he was in the C's. Two rifles, a hatchet and a big-ass sleeping bag. What more do you need?

Taken from the SE summit of Buckhorn by I.M. Kibler, circa 1911. The two photos link up. There may be a third that goes with the panorama but I haven't found it yet.
