[Slugman]

I am going to hike the Middle Fork Cascade River tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8th, with my friend Craig (not a member) and Daisy the Yellow Dog. All are welcome and encouraged to meet us at the driveable end of FS rd #1590. We are going to hit the trail at about 10:30 or 11 am. Take hwy 20 to Marblemount and turn onto Cascade River Road. Follow this until you see tiny rd #1590 right at the bend of a switchback at about mp 16. The road is driveable for about 1 mile of its 1 1/2 mile length, and there are some pull-outs and a good turn-around. I was up there on Feb 11th to hike the South Fork Cascade, and it was marvelous. This hike is about 3 1/2 miles each way, with 1,600 vert. ft gain. Expect a slow pace with plenty of stops to take in the sights. Forecast is for mostly cloudy and a forty percent chance of rain.
