|Friday morning my wife and I packed up a lunch and the dog and caught the ferry over to Orcas to check out the Land Bank's newest acquisition, Turtleback Mtn. We started from the new parking lot on the south side and headed up the access road to the existing cabin. Beautiful views once you get up out of the trees. Past the cabin the trail is only flagging marking the route yet to be built. This connects to the trail on the north side and isn't hard to follow as there isn't any underbrush out here on the islands. Great way to spend a winter morning. Map and more info. Here are a couple of panos.
