Just in case any of you are worried about the snow, I live near Amantes and the roads are bare and dry. Most of our snow has disappeared during our beautiful sunny day.  I am looking forward to tonight!

Thankfully I arbitrarily opted for coming ; I had a great time. Plenty of new faces in the crowd. Some I didn't meet, sadly.  . As Mcaver and I discussed photography ; I believe the surroundings began to disappear. Their calzones took up half a table. The restaurant's centerpiece is an illuminated-moving cloth. Bpj proved to be elusive again. Beer and pizza is certainly a classic combination. This occasion was special enough to warrant me using a knife and fork to eat my pizza. There has to be a system devised for payments ; I believe the time spent trying to compute individual payments increases with each social.

It was great meeting a bunch of the people from nwhikers. Everyone was as entertaining in person as they are on this site. (That's a compliment, in case anyone wonders.)
Later I realized there were some people there who I hadn't recognized in relation to their identities here, so I still have more people I want to meet and talk to. Good excuse to do it again sometime.
Thank you to everyone who helped organize. Also kudos to Quark for organizing the food orders.
I'll always remember the fireplace that was really a waterfall with the chimney covered by a sort of 3D terrain map that even included a randomly placed steam vent.

A fun time. Lots of new faces and many familiar ones as well. Best I can remember it included Hiker Mama, Yet, Putz-In-Boots, Dacker, Matt, GLHG, jimmymac, Strider, Mesatchie Mark, MCaver, Trevor, Dicey, Quark, Tazz, The Zachster, Randy, Frank, Ice Girl, and a few more. Please chime in if I forgot you. I think I counted about 20 people total.
