Contact Lowell Skoog at Alpenglow.org He is a ski historian and although he likely doesn't know of this fellow he could probably put you in touch with someone who was present at the activities at Leadville with the 10th Mountain division.

Sadly the greatest generation are dying off and chances of locating this fellow get slimmer every day. The best of luck though.

The Mt. Bachelor ski resort, here in Central Oregon, was started by Bill Healy along with a group of locals in 1956. Bill was a 10th Mtn vet. He ran the company up until 1988. He died of ALS in 1993. Healy is a local legend, and Bachelor has developed into one of the finest ski areas in the NW.

Fred Beckey was in the 10th during WWII and is still climbing in his 90's. I am sure there is an active vets organization their home base is Fort Drum near Waterton, NY. I am sure there is an archivist for such a renowned division.

Click on the user name. It is up to the user to decide whether they allow PM or email contact. It's not thread specific. But feel free to post your questions. You'll get more answers.

Who Was your father - you can answer this in a pm if you wish. I have been looking of any living or living relative of the 10 Divison and the 3rd Battalion....especially 1943.
