Access to the Buck Creek trail head last time I was out that way (long time ago) there was no trespassing signs around the Trinity Red Mt Mine. looking at the map I don't see a trail or path around that area to access the Buck Creek Trail or Chiwawa River trail? I see from the web site that the Chiwawa Road is open to Alpine Meadows Campground now. thanks

The trail goes from the parking area to "hiker's left" of Trinity, by the river.

I ran into a man doing a salmon count at Trinity about five years ago. He told me he had bought up all the old mining claims in that area and apparently bought the old Trinity townsite. His stated intention was to remove the old mine claims from becoming active. The trail is re-routed around the Trinity townsite as of that time (5 years ago). But I think all other access is open, snow not withstanding.

The road is supposedly open to Trinity now. The slide has been cleared, per the ranger station.
