Anybody been up the Denny Creek/Melakwa Lakes lately? What is the snow level? If any? What type of gear?

I was just up there yesterday. No snow anywhere; no problem getting through the remaining snow patches, and no crowds. The Water Slide looks great, the falls along the Wagon trail look superb. The creek is running hard, so there isn't much of a basin at Franklin Falls, but it sure is purty! The only thing on that trail that drove me crazy was the litter... Won't people ever learn?! mad.gif hurl.gif

Are you saying there is no snow at Melakwa Lakes or Denny Creek?

There isn't enough to write of. There are patches here and there, but most of the snow you will come across is going to be at the highest elevations around the lake. Great early-season hiking. I'm looking forward to going back this weekend. rb
