Road in good condition until FS maintained portion about half way to Taylor, beyond which numerous / deep potholes until Taylor (as bad as I can recall). From Taylor to Dingford road in good shape. A mile past Dingford snow starts but recently plowed and cleared to junction above Goldmyer by contractor working on footbridge. Road seems to have survived 100 year flood just fine, go figure. River crossing cold but uneventful (in advance of pineapple express surge today). Packed snow to springs easily conquered via tennis shoes and hiking poles.

Thanks for the report.

How is the water bar situation between Taylor and Dingford?

What do you mean by water bar? Road is a little rough in spots between Taylor and Dingford but I'm pretty sure a low clearance vehicle could handle it.

Last time I tried it, I got past the Garfield Creek washout, but there was a pretty abrupt, fairly small but deep water bar about 200 feet beyond that stopped me (almost certain I would have knocked my bumper pretty good). Given that my Prelude had sh##ty clearance, and I bet I could make it with my Elantra now, but I always get sketched out on that stretch.

What SF is talking about is an old washout just past the Garfield "rocky" section. You drop into it and it slopes west south west so your pax side dips in first.
