I tagged along with GeoTom and Dani (his wife) up to Hex Mountain today. It was a great choice, the weather was perfect up.gif It was sunny and warm most of the day and the views were pretty darn good cool.gif The lower portion of the trail is snow free until about 3000 ft. and we booted until we saw the Hex Mtn. trail sign. The snow is old, crunchy, and packed! We made it to the summit in about 3 hours and enjoyed the 360 degree view from up there. It only took 1.5 hours to get down the mountain and we stopped by the Starbucks in North Bend for some caffeine afterwards coffee.gif 7 miles and 2600 ft. gain smile.gif

I thought the same thing as AB, as far as the meltdown is concerned. It looks great up there, thanks for sharing. I can't wait to get up there again this spring.

Well, I would have been with you, but I was instructing at the Everett Mounties Rock I field trip at Schurman Rock all day. A useful and rewarding way to miss getting out. We got rained on some, but the day wasn't nearly the washout that we expected. tongue.gif

A fun trip. We were in this neighborhood on Sunday. The weather was partly sunny and warm. The snow is melting out rapidly. It is now officially trap season! rolleyes.gif I managed to fall crotch deep in half a dozen traps on our hike up Jolly ( which we didn't complete). huh.gif It takes so much energy to extricate oneself from those wallow holes.....it's no wonder I bonked shakehead.gif
