I tagged along with GeoTom and Dani (his wife) up to Hex Mountain today. It was a great choice, the weather was perfect It was sunny and warm most of the day and the views were pretty darn good The lower portion of the trail is snow free until about 3000 ft. and we booted until we saw the Hex Mtn. trail sign. The snow is old, crunchy, and packed! We made it to the summit in about 3 hours and enjoyed the 360 degree view from up there. It only took 1.5 hours to get down the mountain and we stopped by the Starbucks in North Bend for some caffeine afterwards
7 miles and 2600 ft. gain

I thought the same thing as AB, as far as the meltdown is concerned. It looks great up there, thanks for sharing. I can't wait to get up there again this spring.

Well, I would have been with you, but I was instructing at the Everett Mounties Rock I field trip at Schurman Rock all day. A useful and rewarding way to miss getting out. We got rained on some, but the day wasn't nearly the washout that we expected.
