I took a day off work and went over to Mt. Ellinor with a friend. I have wanted to do this snow scramble for years. Today I finally made it. The chute is one of the best glissades I have done. The snow conditions are still very good. I have a full report at: Mt. Ellinor I have been doing all too much hiking smile.gif and not spending enough time getting all my photos online frown.gif . I will endeavor to fix this situation ASAP. I will post here again when photos are added to the report.

A good story Jim, I remember it well: Mt. Ellinor is a grand spot for views and though there is a trail all the way to the top, it is a steep one no doubt about it, and with the heat of summer, a cooker when up above the tree line. The glissades can still be found then too near the top in July some years. Beware though it's a popular trek...met some nice gals up there, too. http://www.alpinequest.com/mtellinor.htm McPil

I consider myself an Olympics neophyte, but I've done this one and it was fun. Mixed company all day too. Men are such pigs. winksmile.gif

Thanks Jim for the comment on the shot from Mt. Ellinor. I just spent some time at your site again...looking good! I really like you coloration background and your new page. I am a firm believer in adding color on a main page and other web pages related as it adds to the quality of the site I think, and the viewer feels much more intimately connected when visiting. "Congrats" McPil

Thanks Ken. It would not be hard to improve on my original effort. I might still be at it if a friend had not written a program to almost instantaneously change the colors on 1100 html pages. Actually Larry commented on your nice summit shot. I happen to agree with him. A very nice shot.
