I am not very familiar with all of the trails so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good hikes this weekend. It doesn't matter how difficult it is, I just want a good day hike that I can do without snowshoes preferably along Highway 2 or Mountain Loop.

Lake Serene is a good idea; Lake Dorothy (Hwy 2 area) or Goat Lake (Mt. Loop Hwy area) are two other snow free options.

Serene and Goat Lakes are two good choices. I have done both in the last 12 days. Both are snow free. Serene gives you a chance to see Bridal Veil Falls and the sheer face of Mt. Index. Goat Lake has some enormous trees, a great creek walk, and Foggy Peak rising above the lake. I have posted reports of both in the Trip Reports section. Alas, I have not had time to post photos yet. Here is one of Foggy Peak above Goat Lake:

Thanks for the ideas, I was up Lake Serene a couple weeks ago and it was great. I didnt even think that Dorothy was out of the snow yet so I will give it and Goat Lake a thought.

I highly second Goat Lake. And If you are stressed out, need to unwind, a stroll along beautiful Elliot Creek is the best theraphy.
