I was at the Pete Lake trailhead yesterday
(Salmon la Sac--> Cooper lake)
I saw a gold colored BIG SUV pull out of the lot while leaving their
Black Diamond Treking poles behind -- That was me frantically chasing your vehicle waving your stix at you!
Anyway, I put them against the parking berm, so I could start a hike with my daughter - when I came back 1 hour later they were where I left them, but some dudes were already eyeballing them, and I didn't want to start a conflict since I had my four-year old with me -
So, the guy that likely snagged your lost poles is around 35 and balding on top, driving an older beat-up subaru wagon.

Lost one trekking pole right at Boulder Pass, GPW, on Sunday July 20th. I think it was stolen by a marmot!
The marmot in question definitely DID steal a red bag with a water filter in it by dragging it well under bushes and tree cover. I managed to find that, and scared the marmot away, and I just assume he stole the pole too (but how, why?), since they were together at the time. I looked and looked and looked, as I don't want to litter the backcountry with my stuff either, but could not find it.
If anyone happens to see it let me know.

Lost Scarpa Boots!
I'm not an idiot, but sometimes I act like one. I left my Scarpa Triolet Mountaineering Boots in the parking lot at the Heliotrope Ridge Trail Head. They're orange and yellow.
Left on Wednesday July 24th. I went back to the trail head parking lot at 2:00 on Thursday the 25th and there was no sign of them. I've left my name and number with the ranger at Glacier, so if you found them please PM me or return them to the ranger station at Glacier.
