I have noticed things melting out earlier than usual, but this area is a once burned section that is recovering, plus it's east slopes, but mostly dirt, scree and sparsely tree'd. I am planning a dayhike up Mt. Baldy 6421' starting from a ridge at 4100', snow free to the ridge crest, I can't see much further, but the winter setup will be in tow, then the ridgeline (3 miles of it) over to Stormy Mtn. 7198'. Good exercise, Awesome views !
