What can I say that hasn't already been said? Great trip, great people. Love all the pics and movies. Wish I brought glacier pants for the glissade - yeooow! Also wish the weather cooperated. Still, you could feel just how steep the slopes were, and how jagged the adjoining towers and ridges were. Very cool. I didn't take many pics, but here are some I did take. Looking forward to the next adventure!

Sorry, been busy with minor tasks like helping my son with his book report, helping my other son fill out financial aid applications for college, making sure they have meals, clean clothes, etc. Not to mention reading all 484 pages of the military sci-fi space-opera novel that I checked out just before the trip. Oh, probably shouldn't have mentioned that. Okay, sorting pictures now....

Here are the photos. No time for clever narration because some whip-wielding bait-breathed women are ordering me to finish faster. (Hmm, there’s something strangely exciting and disturbing about that sentence.)

We indeed glissaded about 2500 feet on the way down. The glissades triggered snow slides, but the snow was just firm enough to keep the slides slow and relatively shallow, without gaining dangerous depth or speed. If the sun had been out as we earlier wished, the wetter softer snow would have made the slope too dangerous to travel.

After the glissades, my remaining photos served only to demonstrate the coating of water blurring my camera lense.

I love this. at a small cafe in Colorado, my dad once ordered a "cheeseburger without the cheese" because "hamburger" wasn't on the menu. embarassedlaugh.gif
