I went up Mt. Townsend in Olympic National Forest today from the north Little Quilcene side. What a beautiful day for a hike.
There was still snow on the trail in some places so I got to try out IBEX's stomp step. I don't know if it worked but I didn't get hurt so maybe it did. I seemed to keep reverting back to my old method of trying to step lightly or moving quickly if it looks like a spot where I might break through the snow.

I love Mt. Townsend! Someday I hope to see it in snow As for now, I've only seen it in the fall!
