We all know about the pros and cons of summer -- wildflowers, open high trails, bugs, throngs of people -- but what about the heat? Do you like it or hate it? And do you have AC at home or not? Be honest! This is research!

I can't vote because there's not an appropriate answer for me! I hate the heat beyond a certain temperature, mostly because I don't have a/c in my car, home, or office. And I love nice weather, although not all the time - I like variety.
However, it dawned on me that this early heat spell just might melt out the higher elevations a little sooner!

Let's see now. Hot/sunny weather or cold drizzle/rain?
That's an easy one. Let the sun shine.

It's pretty safe to say that if we take all of man kinds accumulated knowledge, we still don't know everything. So, I hope you understand why I don't believe you know everything. But then again, maybe you do.

Who says it has to be rainy to be cool? I've seen some very nice sunny & 70 days here. That's not heat. Heat is walking around a 90 degree apartment in nothing but shorts carryinga fan with you.

It's not so much the heat that gets to me it's the humidity

If given a choice, of course I'd opt for a nice 75 degree day with a breeze in my face! The fact is though, that since I moved up here seven years ago I was faced with a problem. I hated the weather. I hated 90 consecutive days of rain. I hated ten months of drizzle and clouds. I hated that I only got to bask in the sun for two and a half months out of the year...
So I learned to live with it. I learned to cope. I learned that some waterproof boots, a water resistant jacket (in some cases a vinyl poncho), and some gaiters were all I needed to get over it and begin enjoying the outdoors again.
So as far as the heat goes - I take what I can get, and love every minute of it. Whether it is 20 degrees with 2 feet of fresh snow, or 95 degrees in the shade, I love to be outside!
No AC in the home, but the Jeep is always nice and cool.

Except for three years I lived in N. Va I've lived here all my life. I'm one of those strange people who doesn't care if it's cloudy and rainy for weeks on end with no sunshine, it does not affect my mood one way or another. I'm a woodworker when the weather is not fair and a backpacker when it is. Good hiking weather to me is 55 deg and sunny to partly cloudy. The good thing about hiking in rain is that the bugs don't come to greet you.
