Alan, about twin fawn. Two years ago, while driving up U.S. 101 to Lake Quinault, we watched a doe trying to make it across the road with her tiny twins. Our hearts stood still watching mom and her babies trying to avoid the traffic. She escorted one at a time across while the other one confused and scared returned to the brush, waiting to be picked up.
It's pretty safe to say that if we take all of man kinds accumulated knowledge, we still don't know everything. So, I hope you understand why I don't believe you know everything. But then again, maybe you do.

Only thing I'll be worried about now is to have my kids get a first-hand view of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom and have a cougar or coyote pack chase one of the little rascals down smack in front of our viewing.
Of course, I'll photograph the whole event and THEN explain things to them!
This reminds me of driving over hwy 20 a few years ago. There was a doe and a fawn beside the road and a split rail fence between the road and a field. As my car approached, the doe jumped over the fence, while the fawn ducked under it.
I can't remember if I've told this story, but I had an uncle that was a ranger at Squaw Creek in Montana. One day he found and injured fawn and brought it back to the cabin. He and his wife kept the deer in the cabin and nursed it with a milk bottle (this story via my mom who helped with the nursing). All was fine and dandy until one day they left the cabin for a bit. When they came back, the deer had jumped from chair to chair, leaving a little pile on each chair it landed on. My aunt decided that if the fawn was that healthy, it could now live outside.
