I am a big Henry Shires fan. He gave me AWESOME customer service, BUT The Cloudburst looks a lot like a Golite Cave ripoff with a large beak over the opening. BPJ, you could have borrowed mine and saved yourself some cash wink.gif I don't have a review yet because I have not even had a chance to seam seal mine yet waah.gif Last time I had a chance to do it, I went hiking instead wink.gif

IIRC HS recommends the same mixture of GE Household II Silicone Cement and Mineral Spirits as Stephenson does. It's cheaper than commercial Silicone seam sealer and penetrates needle holes better.

Or if you are lazy, go to Sea Fabs and get some SilSeal.

I've been looking at one of these for awhile. I have a couple of questions. The site mentions a 4-6 week wait. BPJ, how long did it take to receive yours? Has anyone bought one with the sewn on floor? Any opinions on floor vs. no floor?

Tarptent floor
JimK, I think the sewn in floor is silnylon. That sounds like it would be quite slippery. I've used mine with different grounsheets. Lately I have gone with a piece of tyvek cut to fit. I'm working on some sort of temporary attachment method i.e. Velcro or tie downs of some sort. The only time no floor has been an issue is when it gets windy and dusty inside. Just be careful on your campsite selection. hafdome
