I started up the Denny Creek TH on Saturday morning in a brisk pace in order to catch two friends with an hour start on the path to Kaleetan peak. So few cars in the parking lot is was amazing, certainly to change later in the day. Met the pair at the upper lake and we proceeded to head up the basin ready to take a turn to the NW. Unfortunately, we went too far and had to make the decision to traverse across the upper slopes or go down. I began to traverse while the others went down and was fortunate to find slots in the rock as I moved up the slope to eventually find the correct trail leading to the summit scramble. Enjoyable bucket holds up to the top and a great view of course.
Going down, I almost decided to take the ridge route back, but uncertain of the right trail, I retraced my steps and found the correct gully to exit into the basin. Isn't it always that way !
A solid day of scrambling in the bright sunshine, work up a sweat and then enjoy a cold one at home,
