While we're at it, how about "Stillaguamish Indian Stories and Legends".

Here is a thread in cc climbers.com that talks of a book by Mac Bates called "Three Fingers: The Mountain, the Men and a Lookout" (Cloudcap, 1987). Has anyone here read it?

I think McPil said he had a copy in a previous post.
By the way, the links to NW history are very interesting. Thanks.

It's pretty safe to say that if we take all of man kinds accumulated knowledge, we still don't know everything. So, I hope you understand why I don't believe you know everything. But then again, maybe you do.

Yes, I have the book and personal cover letter from Mac's dad, Bill. It's a good read BTW. Further, here is a story of the area that may shed some light on the Queest Alb name, written about 6 months ago by John Roper for AlpineQuest.

Stopped by the Verlot Ranger Station and asked the 2 ladies about the naming of Three Fingers in hope they knew something.
Answer: Maybe because it looked like 3 fingers? Didn't know who or when.
Also one stated the those from the Lake Stevens area commonly refer to it as Three Sisters, which I did until a number of years back.

I read the story that you attached http://www.alpinequest.com/Skadulgwas.htm It was really interesting to read about the history of the Mountains. Thank you for attaching it. I have been looking for a long time for information like that. I found myself wanting more when I was finished.

I haven't been to the lookout on three fingers in 15 years - I hope to change that this year though! After spending the night up there, watching the sunset and sunrise, I bought the book (Three Fingers: The Mountain, the Men and a Lookout) Great book, and still in a place of prominence on my bookshelf.
