I'm new here and I have a question maybe someone can answer. There is private property across the bridge from Bedal campground (Mount. Loop Hiwy.) I'm told by the Darrington Forest Service people that this private property is the old Bedal homestead. I walked a little down the private/gated driveway one early morning and saw some cabins, so I left. According to the map this seems to be a large tract of land. I'm wondering - has this been sub-devided into lot's, are they often sold, are outhouses grandfathered, etc.??? THANK'S, Snowbrushy

I have been told that this is the Bedal Homestead also. All existing structures and most uses are grandfathered. This is zoned Forestry 20 acre parcels now. Just 2 miles north of Bedal campground is Forgotten Mountain River Tracts. (Subdivided 1960-1963?) This is private ownership and because of vandalism problems, I wouldn't go poking around. Forgotten Mountain River Tracts has several cabins and camping lots for sale. I own a cabin there also and will probably sell this coming summer.
