I had this weird dream last night... vividly inspired by the matrix. In it, humanity was battling the machines and winning, and at the last moment the machines launched this weird gigantic pod into space called arkonos. It was lost and forgotten and thousands of years later there was a peaceful human society, In the meantime, the pod had landed on mars and the machines had colonized and then launched an attack on earth all these sentinels came out and killed everyone... weird dream. Anyway, does anyone have any clue as to any possible meanings or origins for the word "arkonos"??? J

The history of the Greek word "Arkonos" has not been fully documented by etymologists. There is a school of thought that it originated in Hope, Arkonsos back in 1892 when a group of elderly Greek philosphers met one fine spring day. Well, it wasn't that fine. In fact, it was raining cats and dogs and monkeys and cheetahs and mosquitos and porcupines. You had to watch out for the porcs because they tended to get caught in your beard, which was quite a hassle. Anyway some the philsopher Noah Tall figured the end of the world may have been coming, and they needed to build an ark. Several others of the group resisted, shouting "oh, no!", and this subgroup was known as the onos for several years. But this confused the non-Greeks, who didn't understand this strange term, so they renamed it to the Arkonos.

Kansas--->Arkansas--->Arkonos For awhile the "A's" were winning the war. Now the "O's" are battling back. "E" is on the sidelines. The outcome is uncertain.

Wasn't there a Star Trek episode called "The Return of the Arkons"? Yes, says a google search. It was "Archons", and it was the one where "Landru" controlled everybody and made them all jerks. "You are not of the body!" TrekGuide.com
