If one were to be logged in at home, and then leave, and forget to log out...and then log in elsewhere....or try to anyway...would it still work? Seems like no....am I wrong?

marylou, it will work. The way the forum software works is if you click the "Log me on automatically each visit:" box when you log in, a cookie is stored on your computer. Each time you visit NWHikers.net, the site looks for its cookie. If it's there, it recognizes that you are logged in. If it's not there, you have to log in to post under your name.
Since the login is not based on a session being opened to the server, you can have multiple computers that automatically log you into NWHikers and never log out on them...of course if you have multiple people using the same computer to log in and post here, you might want to log out so that one doesn't accidentally post as you.
