Cannot find Sailor Boy Pilot Bread They used to sell it at REI Safeway etc. We have looked at Safeway, Albertsons, REI, PCC and QFC without luck. It used to be made by Interbake in Tacoma.

You might try Top Foods. I bought some from top foods in Everett last year in the bulk section.

ok, i stopped at the renton highlands safeway on the way home from work, and they stopped carrying pilot bread a few weeks ago.. they did offer to special-order some for me if i really wanted it..
so, it's still being made, just not stocked in grocery stores. probably not a fast-enough mover to keep it around i suppose. i'll check qfc later in the week.

Also try calling Central Market at N155/Aurora (Westminster Way to be precise) 206/3639226- I've found quite a few rarities there. (And overall good deals).
One of my other favorite bulk stores is Pacific Food Importers (PFI) at 2323 Airport Way South (vicinity of Dearborn) - 206/6822740. Very well-priced stuff. Latest acquisition: A good-sized block of real Emmentaler cheese (not Jarlsberg or other imitations) at $5/lb! They carry a lot of Asian and SE European imports as well (among which about 20 different varieties of high-quality olive oil).
Your last option would be Whole Foods (also known as Whole Paycheck).
Cheers-

Roger's Thriftway in the Madison Valley neighborhood in Seattle used to carry the "Sailor Boy" brand made by interbake. If Interbake has discontinued them, you can still get Pilot Bread from Mountain House in cans. See LINK
Nabisco also made them for a long time, discontinued them and then reintroduced them...
Good luck. Let us know if you find them.

I've seen it at the Ballard Market in their bulk section though I'm not sure if I've seen it since their remodel.

stopped at the renton highlands qfc this morning on the way home from work and bought a 2lb box of sailor boy for $3.29. looks like they keep 4 boxes on the shelf so they should always have some in stock for such a low-volume item.
i read somewhere that almost all of interbake's pilot bread produced gets shipped to alaska. apparently it's very popular up there since it lasts almost forever and is very versatile.
odd thing is, i've never seen nabisco's pilot bread anywhere...

*nod* I have to have my friends send them from Alaska. Rarely though, being as that's expensive. I grew up on them, hehe.
