My short-term memory is not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my short-term memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Yeah! It's durable, I think its tasty, its easy to pack, and it doesn't go bad or moldy. It's the only bread type thing I've found that stays edible a week or more out in the woods.

Even Wasa turns to dust after a few days on the trail. Good organic stuff molds and mount logan bread is a deadly weapon only suitable for use against an attacking grizzly. Kids do not mind it either.

ya gotta spread the peanut butter on something! i also like tortillas, but i must be doing something wrong with them because they always start to mold on about the third day... i like wasa/ry krisp, but it sure does crumble easily. same with any "normal" crackers (saltines, ritz, etc.) one good thing about pilot bread is that it goes with anything.

It's really, really boring food, but it has its place, and yes, it does go with everything!

Sailor Boy Pilot Bread
Larry's in Queen Anne always keeps a good supply - nothing beats a Sailor Boy, a thick slice of Walla Walla and a slab of Tillamook extra sharp!

I did a search on Google frantically looking for pilot bread as I have had only sparadic success in finding my most cherished staple!! I grew up in Alaska, where you could purchase Sailor Boy Pilot bread in the famous "blue box" anywhere! I ran across this site and I am glad I did!! Thanks for helping me locate this product! I can't wait to swipe a big gob of Skippy crunch PB across another slice of Pilot Bread Tim

Glad we could help you out! And welcome to the site! I picked up another box of Sailor Boy at QFC last week on my last trip into Seattle. So I know they still carry it.

Any major store should have it right there in Vancouver. I grew up in AK too. I have a friend in AK who once told me that when she was growing up her family called Pilot bread cookies. I wonder if this is where Cabinboy get's his name from? lol.gif
