If anyone hasn't been here, it is a wonderful 8.5 mile hike that follows a creek and crosses lots of little creeklets on the way to a very pretty lake. The startling thing about this trip was on a beautiful labor day weekend, there was no one camped there and only a handful of hikers. We did see a few people packing out, and 2 couples packing in (though their destination may have been other places besides Surprise), but there was lots of unexpected peace and quiet here.
