I don't expect this little treasure to stump anyone but thought it only fair to throw in a photo to bump this thread. Now that things are melting out I want to enjoy everyone else's pics. Not being much of a camera buff I don't have many of my own.

Lila Lake?

No and no. Are you guys just humoring me? The "gold"-en retriever at the end of the (lake) should be a give-away. Anyway - I'm horrible at guessing and even worse at photography, but I love looking at your photos ... bring em on!

If you look closely at the righthand side of the the third picture, you can see an interesting avalanche feature. The red streak is the track scraped bare by a huge avalanche that came down the side of the Buckindy Range, swept back uphill 200 feet to the crest of the ridge, and knocked down full-sized trees for several hundred feet along the ridge crest. I didn't do any fishing, but we ran up six summits in the area, and I at least scared the fish by swimming in Lower Bench on the way up and Upper Bench on the way down.
Where is Bench Lake and whats around it since I would like to visit them?

There are a couple Bench Lakes in the state. One up the N. Fk. Snoqualmie, one up Downey Creek, etc. You might want to consult a map and make up your mind about where you want to go. And then post about it in another thread entirely. smile.gif Edit: Ah...you've added pics from Matt's post. That's the one up Downey Creek. (What did you find when you Googled for "bench lake buckindy range"? The second link in the list, specifically. wink.gif )

THAT Bench lake is at the near end of the Suiattle river road. Drive 12+ miles up the Suiattle, then walk/ride (Bicycle) 12+ miles to the Downey Creek trail. Hike 6+ miles up Downey Creek to the fishermens trail to Bench lake. Hike up to bench lake.

Yes, yes, but is there a BENCH at the lake? Or do I need to bring my own camp chair?

That may be so, but the hint is "gold"-en retriever (as in not black lab or blue terrrier). He who ignores the hint guesses at his own peril. shakehead.gif
