Mid-range. And just checked...there's not even a hint of it on the map. <grin> I was fairly shocked to see it when we did. Guess it's one of those that you'd just have to have travelled past to have known. And that TR is coming... Working, working, working...

BPJ, the lake doesn't have a name. I think Mike was asking for the name of the peak. How many clues do you need? OK, one more. That peak on the other side of the valley is better known for a boot or two.

Although it is amazing just how well the lake resembles a boot. We should proclaim it to be Das Boot Lake (even if it translates to "The Boat" Lake in German). That would definitely be in the spirit of the thread...if it doesn't yet have a name, Name That Lake...!

Burntboot in the sun, Big Snow in the shade. Looks like you're on top of Chikamin looking NW. That is another one of those "stealth lakes" that are popping out of dying icefields all over the place these days.

Hey Tom, I'd be interested in snow depths out there. What did you find at 5000', 6000' and 7000' if you made it that high? Thanks.

We turned around where that picture was taken. I'm not sure how high it was but I'm guessing 6500'. Snow depth was hard to gauge due to wind transportability. I'd say 2 feet at 6500', dropping half a foot every 500'. Don't think you'll need snowshoes this weekend unless you're real high. Snow is really light and powdery. Definitely bring gaitors and plenty of warm clothes. It is COLD up there!
