How about a hand for the Whatcom County Sheriff's Rescue - they brought the climbers off Baker successfully today. Having participated in a SAR event last year, I have nothing but admiration for these guys. Good job!

I too have nothing but admiration for the search & rescue depts. In fact, I contacted them (Snohomish /Skagit/Whatcom) and asked permission to put up links of them on my site a while back, getting a very nice response, thus doing so. Which, can be veiwed and clicked on at my Belay Links Page...

Good idea, Ken. That way John/Jane Q. Public could learn more about these groups. I spoke with the Sheriff in charge of Sno County SAR last year and commended him on the great job his young guys had done and asked him what the best way was for a citizen to say thanks, and his reponse was "send money". These groups are constantly in need of new/better equipment and they have no budgets to speak of, and they are all volunteers, so it's difficult for these agencies to field a SAR team. I guess that's a blatant plug for Sno County SAR, but all of these organizations could use some help. Thanks.
