my first trip to Cascade Pass,it was GREAT!!! was going to stay longer but a couple of folks said the bears came into pelton camp at night so I headed to sahale glacier camp. A longer than expected hike but worth the views, spent two nights one cloudy morning, one sunny, fall colors were brilliant!! Played guitar looking at doubtful lake for a couple of hours, Great trip!!
What a difference a month makes. I was up there on 9-4. Already the color was starting to turn for autumn, but the forest fire smoke was so thick that I didn't even bother going up on Sahale Arm.
By the way, the last couple miles of the road will be closed starting Monday, so this is the last weekend to make this trip... (The weather for Monday and beyond isn't looking too good either...)
