New Web site will showcase local historical photos
SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF
Local history buffs have access to 12,000 historic local photos of Seattle and King County through an innovative new Web site that spans 150 years and the collections of 12 museums and libraries.
"King County Snapshots" was made possible through a $325,000 grant to the Museum of History and Industry and is the result of a two-year project.
The museum collaborated with the University of Washington and county heritage organizations to assemble the collection, a searchable database of images categorized by topic with links to related photos and information.
The Web address is www.kcsnapshots.org
