It's pretty safe to say that if we take all of man kinds accumulated knowledge, we still don't know everything. So, I hope you understand why I don't believe you know everything. But then again, maybe you do.

Anyone else at the protest besides me? It was a pleasant 2 hours talking with other hikers and a chance to do something to help get rid of those pesky fees and fines.

How did it go? I would have been there, but it would have been difficult to commute the 800 miles from Utah. Was there anything actually done to further the cause of free access?
Do you think Congress will renew the "Demo" project in 2004? Let's hope not. I can't believe that they are user fees. The parking pass should be an entrance fee. Entrance fees can be gotten around easier.
Just where is it I can find beaver, bear, and other critters that are worth cash money when skint?

Fee Bill

I guess it's okay; it was inevitable. The Forest Service really has no other way of making money.
The one thing I wish they would change in that bill is the part about being able to charge use fees for developed or managed parking areas. So what, they spend a few bucks to have the parking lot paved, and then they can rake in the cash because it's paved??? What a bunch of crap!!! I wish they would just leave all the parking lots as gravel.

Oh, sorry. I guess the FS in Washington can do that. I haven't had much experience with the FS in Washington, as I wasn't much of a hiker when I was growing up in Redmond. It wasn't until I got to Utah that I got to know the FS, and here, there aren't any trees to log. It's just a big desert with mountains.
