Feeling adventurous, I began heaping up snow in my backyard at about 3:00 pm. The sun was setting fast and I finished making my “igloo” just before dark. It resembled more of a hollowed out log, with just enough room inside for me to fit in, lying down of course. At about 9:30 pm I grabbed my zero degree sleeping bag and a tarp, headed outside, and wrestled into my cave. There I slept for the duration of the night in my cozy little cave. I woke up the next morning to a chilly temperature of 18 degrees. I think that’s the coldest temperature which I have ever slept in! Other then lots of cramps the next morning, I was well rested.
