Rainrunner, The Gonz, Ford and me got out early this morning to do some shoeing. Dicentra woke up super late and ended up not going We'll make her pay for it next weekend
I had never done 9031-even in the summer-so it was a nice treat to see something new.
While 9030 goes straight up with little views, 9031 runs along the side with many views of the ridges and peaks across the Hwy. We had lunch in a nice clearing a little before the gravel pit. Blue skies and sun, it was a nice day.
As for road conditions: The interstate exit is completely clear, and the start of 9030 has been plowed, with a berm of snow (that some have driven over and through) not too far down the rd. No ice at all with the warmer weather. Good parking at least. The first short mile is pretty slushy till you hit the junction. Then it is nice snow the rest of the way
