Dear Gretel, I have seen crumbs on the trail several times, and when I do I collect them and sprinkle them on my Souffle that I cook (from scratch).

Dear Sluggy, I'm planning on replacing one of my vehicles. I was going to ask Click and Clack to recommend a good, 4-season trailhead vehicle, but heck, that was before you opened up shop. What should I buy, Slugman?

Yep. I don't use the stuff, personally. I consider it a misdemeanor, though, not a felony. The topic does seem to generate a certain amount of heat around here.

Heat? Oh yeah. A tanker fire on I-5 couldn't due a better job of creating heat (and hijacking traffic off its intended course.) I'm a past culprit. That's why I'm gonna rubberneck a little with this post but continue down the Ask Sluggy thread.

Dear Sluggy, I have a 4 man tent. On my next trip 2 of the occupants will be women. Will I be issued a ticket for this violation?

Markus, you are a little vague as to what species the fourth occupant will be. I withhold judgement until I know all the facts...

Oh, yeah, I forgot, I could use a drawing of a slug wearing a backpack or some such to adorn the column. I can't use my avatars because they are probably copyrighted, and of course I just lifted them off the web. My drawing skills are such that even a blob-like creature would be beyond me. So let's have a contest, and the winner's drawing will appear in at least one issue of the mag. (If the column is hated, then one issue may be all I'm in!)

Dear Sluggy: I often see people using bread crumbs to find their way back to the TH but I can't believe they can be so stupid. They should use flourescent pink spray paint on all the rocks and trees like I do. What do you think? Signed, Environmentally concerned.

Dear Sluggy, I was hiking near Lake Wenatchee in late August of 1999. I passed by peaceful forests, placid lakes, and mosquito infested meadows. Then I came upon an official forest service sign saying "Please stay on trail". It is now over four and a half years later and I'm really thinking I need to get off this trail. Any recommendations?

Whatever the solution Dear Sluggy may offer, I hope it does not involve the removal of any tags from any furniture cushions. That could put you in quite a pickle.
