Rainrunner, Dicentra, The_Turtle, Ford and me headed up to Longmire to do some snowshoeing. We got blessed by nice weather-it was snowing lightly, but no winds today and it wasn't too cold. The snow is good for walking-still light and fluffy, pretty dry. Was easy to walk in as it is packed below. We headed up the Wonderland towards Cougar Rock CG. We weren't pushing for a hard trip-more a chance to get together and have girl time, catching up. I was impressed by the gentle quietness of the woods-most of my snowshoeing experiences have been above tree line. There is something to be said about rolling gently through the trees, with the Nisqually babbling by smile.gif

Thanks for the report Sar. I've been thinkin of heading that way next weekend myself. I'm hopin to have the days off. Hopefully the weather will be as good and the snow as nice. There is nothing as peaceful as new fallen snow in the wilds. So quiet. Oh so quiet. Been trying to snow in the Mukilteo, Everett & Lake Stevens area. Really wet and 38*. Wish it would just dump. N

It's pretty safe to say that if we take all of man kinds accumulated knowledge, we still don't know everything. So, I hope you understand why I don't believe you know everything. But then again, maybe you do.

BTW, the road is a dream in-I keep expecting bad roads (we had awful rds on Jan 3 & 4th at Rainer) but the roads lately have been clear all the way to Kautz Creek-and then it is packed and safe till Longmire. We decided on Longmire as it was snowing. It was a good choice-the snow was perfect.
