I don't believe a word of his explanation: "This substance was given to me by a licensed doctor in the Dominican Republic to treat a medical ailment. While I did not realize at the time that I was given a medication that was banned, I obviously now wish that I had been more careful."
Probably using to defy the aging curve à la Barry Bonds. The final 5 years of his 10yr deal are looking like a big fat albatross.

As a medical practicioner its hard to imagine a legitimate reasaon to take furosemide as a healthy athlete; maybe the sports medicine folks know something I don`t?

I was just checking my email adn saw the news heading. WTF!!!! I am disappointed in Cano!!! We already had lost him to injury, but now when he recovers, he will still be on suspension and when he does come back to play, he will not be allowed into the postseason if we go. Gordon Beckam will be a good player for us, but he's not a three hole hitter.

Maybe he had acute neurogenic edema from falling out of his ivory castle and landing on his head. Lol.
I can see why he’s want to get treatment for this in the DR. I mean why would you want to go to a trusted resource of the team locally that knows what is and isn’t banned in competition. His explanation seems perfectly logical.

Using HGH in the off-season to recover. That is what the current "roiders" are all about.
Conseco and Bonds pretty much destroyed using roids to become barnyard animals and hit 75 hrs/season, as that is just too obvious to anyone with functional eyes. But PEDs used to heal after 162 game season is probably more prevalent than anyone cares to admit.
If Griffey had used like this he would have hit another 150 home runs. Those 3-4 injury lost seasons could have been avoided with the proper off-season HGH protocol. Keeps father time at bay.
I was fan, but now I think Cano is just another jack ass stealing some of the brightness from Griffey's career.
Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

I think it's a really bad idea to sign ANY player to a freakin' 10 year contract. I would think 5 should be max, too many things can go wrong.
Good to see the M's off to a good start and hanging near the top of the division, hope they keep it up!

Most of the time. I would have taken Stanton's 13 year contract in a heartbeat. Bryce Harper will also likely get a 10+ year deal and it will absolutely be worth it too (because he'll only be 26 when he hits free agency at the end of this year). And if we had the opportunity, I'd give Mike Trout a lifetime contract - like 15 years guaranteed, plus options for as long as he wants to keep playing. He's absolutely worth it. We all knew from day one Cano's contract was going to be an albatross by the time it runs out. Over the 5 years he's been here so far though, he's been worth more than he's been paid - in 2016 he was worth almost double his annual salary.

Yeah yeah, I know...it’s only a third of the way in, but the Mariners are currently tied for first place in the West.

That would be the Yankees with the best record in baseball at the moment.

You sure about that Tom? Might want to check the most recent standings.
Good to see the M's doing something. Like I said before there's a fight present in this team that I've yet to see since I moved here in 2004. They play all game. If only the fans stayed all game...
Hope to see you at the Sox home game on Father's Day.
Good bye baseball! True to the Blue! Goooooo M's!

When you posted yesterday the Yankees had a slight percentage point lead over Boston. Today they split a double header with the Tigers are a few percentage points behind Boston.

Help me understand if you would please... So what you’re saying is that the Sox have the best record in baseball currently? Yesterday is over, tomorrow hasn’t happened yet and 2000 is but a memory but tomorrow is for the Ms. good by baseball. True to the blue! Yay M’s!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't matter to me just thought it was funny you didn't know what team had the best record in baseball when you posted. Yes, Boston currently has the best record today. As Gali said there's still 2/3 of the season to go. M's are having a good year, yay.
