Last Night we attempted to traverse Rattelsnake mountain starting from the old Snoqualomie Winery with another group starting from Rattlesnake Lake. Soon after the ste start we encountered a new "Selective Cut" unit accross the trail (they selected the big firs and Hemlocks). The unit can be bypassed by descending down the road until you encounter the haul road then up. Where the trail was a trail up high it was largly obscured by winter fall and route finding was difficult. When we finally emerged onto the roads by the towers there was a foot or so of new sloppy snow that impeded progress. Those from the other side had similar problems running into snow about 600' above the ledges. The east side of the top had about two feet of similarly slushsy snow. We decided to bag it then. It looks like it will be good in a couple weeks althoug those cuts look like they will be expanded and mom and the kids could get lost in all the blowdown.
