Not really a hike because I was at work but still a walk in the woods. While I was waiting for my partner to get back to the truck I wrote this little poem of my day on the river. A little walk in the woods did me some good. Shades of green, a laughing, bubbling stream. Songbirds sing a repetative tune, a single bee buzes a flowers bloom. A toad croaks somewhere nearby, a bird takes flight in the blink of an eye. My legs scrape against the brush, a stick cracks behind me, a silent rush. My hair stands on the back of my neck, what was that I say aloud, what the heck! My fear passes as quick as it came, as I watch a deer bound away. A simple time, a walk through the woods, it might just do you some good. WB
