Am looking to sell my REI Half Dome.  Just bought a 3 pound 4-man tent for the entire family.  It's been used once, and is in perfect condition.

The three pound four man tent?

Moonbow's (http://www.moonbowgear.com/1trailgear/3Tents/Tarptents/tarptents.html) making it for us--it's based on Henry Shire's tarp/tent pattern, only will be large enough for four --and will weigh 3 pounds, according to Moonbow. 

The only other light tent I found (I don't consider 8 pounds to be light) was at MandatoryGear (under 2 pounds)--but that was pretty salty--$500, AND it was a single wall with little ventilation.  At least, I'm thinking (hoping) the tarp/tent will give us SOME ventilation. 

I've read/heard good things about Henry Shire's Tarp/Tents.   Hopefully this thing will serve us well in the upcoming years...
