Today, i hiked up to Mineral City, (or almost all the way). The road/trail was pretty good until the first clearing right before Lake Gulch Creeks. (i think that is what they are called. Then there is a huge new washout, of which most is easy to cross, on the far side, it's hands and knees up to the trail. Then the first creek you come to without a bridge, was washed out again. i believe that it was for the better, it's easier to walk over to the creek now, not so many big boulders to walk on. The creek also looks to be easier to cross now. Or at least since the last time i was there. i have pictures, i was also wondering if someone could help me out with identifing some mountains up there by the creek. Thanks, Ice Girl
This one was directly up the valley from the creek, Silver Creek.

That's a fun hike, lots of history in the area and the creek down in its gorge too for a ways. Nothin left of old Mineral City but ghosts. Neat mine adits and a spooky old cabin and school bus (!). Haven't been up there for quite a while, got to go! BTW, your pics are quite large (over 300kb each)- you might want to resize them to something around 100k or smaller for faster viewing. smile.gif Someone will quickly jump in and identify those peaks for ya, I'd have to look at a map to refresh my memory. I know Hubbard Pk is to your right as you hike up creek!

Anyone here climbed Wilman's peak? Is there an easy scrambling route to the top?
