Anyone know if there's a book or pdf on Kirkland/Juanita history? My mother grew up on Finn Hill so anything on that area would be good.

Found a copy of this today for .76 cents. It appears to have some wildly inflated values. It's a great book for history of that area. Written by students at Cleveland H.S. in the late 40's but well researched. All about the history of that area from 1849-1949.

MC, I have a pristine copy of that book; found it at a bookstore in Fremont. Also found a not-great copy a few years ago. Have you read it yet? It's a great read; the kids used primary documents - original platt records, etc.. and were able to interview old-timers who were alive back in the day. Does yours have the map of the Duwamish as it was before we straightened it?

Yes, it has the pull out map. Glad you still have your retirement fund books.

Check this old USGS (1895) - Duwamish isn't straight and Everett hadn't yet screwed up the slough.

I do appreciate a heads-up for old books. Unfortunately that's about the right price A fairly common title.

Just picked up a 1977 copy of Cascade Alpine Guide, green cover with map, Stevens Pass to Rainy Pass. Ahh, now to allow it to collect dust on the bookshelf with the others. lol.gif
